This family friendly event will equip you to sing popular Christmas carols and will give you ar new round of delicious cookie recipes that you can share this holiday season.
The Caroling: Starting at 3 pm, we’ll gather in the church and have a singalong, learning about half a dozen classic Christmas carols from “Joy to the World” to “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” We’ll also share tips about how you can go Christmas caroling door-to-door in your own neighborhood to share the joy of Jesus Christ’s birth where you live.
The Cookies: After we’re done singing, we’ll conclude by sampling homemade cookies (with other snacks) and swapping recipes. If you plan to participate in the cookie swap, we ask that you bring 2 dozen homemade cookies. Also, if you’re willing to share, we ask that you email your recipe to priest@stpeterschurchalbany.org by noon on Nov. 20 so that it can be printed off and available at the party.
Anyone is welcome to join us! You don’t have to participate in the cookie swap to attend, but we do ask that you RSVP so that we know how many song sheets to print. Send your name and the number of people attending (plus your cookie information, if you're participating) to priest@stpeterschurchalbany.org by Nov. 20. Hope to see you there!!

This sacred oratorio by George Frideric Handel will be performed by the men and women of St. Peter’s Choir, along with chamber orchestra. This oratorio was compiled using texts from the King James Bible and the Coverdale Psalter and includes the famous “Hallelujah Chorus.” Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $10 to benefit choral music here at St. Peter’s.

A Meditation on the Sacred Passion of the Holy Redeemer, featuring St. Peter's Choir and orchestra.

Franz Schubert (1797-1828) wrote the Mass in G when he was only seventeen years old, and he did so in less than a week. Schubert, who was well known for the art songs (leider) that he wrote for solo singers, incorporates that style into this work, creating a very melodic and lyrical work. This mass is known as a missa brevis, or short mass, which makes it ideal for us to use in our Anglican liturgy.

On this day, Peter Krasinski, a world famous organist, will be with us to play the Schubert Mass. Based in Boston, Peter is known for both playing organ repertoire, but also improvisation, the art of making music extemporaneously. He is especially well known for playing the organ for silent films and improvising all of the music for the length of the film. We get to experience Peter’s excellent church service playing skills, including playing the Schubert Mass for the choir, but also improvising a wonderful prelude and postlude for us. Please join us for a day of great music that we offer to the glory of God!
